South Castle Korean Restaurant Reviews
Although it’s crazy lineup! Still enjoyed the food a lot! Pretty authentic Korean food I shall say! It’s worth going when you are at the area! Love it! Actually went second time after! The sausage is really yummy! recommended!
This is where I have been recommended by Koreans. I visited on Sunday and the parking was so hard. I waited for about 30 minutes and went into the restaurant. It was small inside but nice. I ordered 2 "soup with korean style blood sausage and organs" and "stir-fried pork intestine". The food came out quickly, and it was really delicious. The staff was very friendly. I live in Edmonton, and I wish this restaurant was in Edmonton as well.
Food for one: 80 including drinks and tips. Positive: despite the names and ingredients definately very surprised as to how good it taste and how big the dishes are. I recommend everything at least once. Mikeogli in a kettle pot tasted like chestnut and went down smooth. Not even a hint of alcohol can be tasted therefore very deadly. Free appy provided and free refill. Also the kettle pot was enough for at least two, best bring a friend. Neg: small interior so expect to wait outside during peak hours. Food for thought: look like a hole in the wall location but fantastic unique food that not served in typical korean restaurant. Good enough for mulitple visits. Get the mikeogli in a kettle pot. Expect to line up if you do not come early.
Food: 5/5 we ordered Soup with Korean Style Blood Sausage and Seafood Tofu Soup “Mild Hot”. We’ve been coming here for the past few years and love these dishes. The side dishes are good too: kimchi, pickled onions and fish cakes. In the summer, we really enjoy the cold buckwheat noodles. Service: Excellent. The workers work hard and are friendly. Atmosphere: it’s a cozy and busy small restaurant. There’s usually a short waitlist during busy periods. Remember to put your name on the clipboard to the left of the door.
Every time we visit , it’s always packed and filled with people of all ages. Whenever we want some Korean style blood sausage, we go there. The portions can be quite big so we always end up packing some home. This place definitely is very homey.
We usually order the Makchang Sundae Guk here, and it never disappoints. The seasoning and temperature were just right, and the taste reminded us of home in Korea. All the staff were kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back again! :)
Simply check all the pics and reviews, they are one of the best Korean restaurants in Van for sure! If you come on rush hours, expect longer wait time. Paid and free street parking nearby, same rush hours little bit hard to find spot, but yo will get one :-p Recommendations (or “must try”if you never had them before) as my pics.
Delicious and authentic Tofu Pork Soup and Kimchi Soup, fast and friendly service. Become one of my favourite place for lunch. Expect a line up sometimes at lunch time or weekend, but it wont last long.
